Kona Dew DeluxeThe Kona Dew Deluxe is the fourth member of the Kona Dew range. It shows many of the features common to other Kona Dew models, namely:-

  • A Kona 7005 butted aluminium frame with a nicely sloped top tube which gives you greater (safer) standover clearance, making the Dew Deluxe a unisex bike. Mudguard clearance and fittings for a rack.
  • A triple chainset for maximum flexibility
  • Six sizes to choose from.
  • Kona’s lifetime frame warranty.

Kona Dew Deluxe features

The Dew Deluxe is the next model up from the Dew Plus .

You now get 27 gears from the 9-speed Shimano cassette, along with upgrades to the quality of the front derailleur and the shifters. Changes also to some of the unseen components such as the hubs and bottom bracket. So far so techy.

However a big change to the appearance of the bike is in the frame, which now incorporates a beautifully tapered top tube. Together with the stunning metallic green finish and smart graphics, this really enhances the beauty of the bike – just click on the image to see…

Better wheels are fitted. The Alex DC-25 double wall rims with Shimano hubs, fitted with 32mm Continental tyres, will make for much more sprightly performance.

With the narrower tyres, this performance comes perhaps at the expense of some off-road capabilities. But unless you really need to cope with soft muddy ground this shouldn’t be seen as too much of a drawback. After all, the Kona Dew range is aimed more towards the road riding enthusiast.

The improvements seen in the Dew Deluxe do push the price up by a couple of hundred pounds. But this is now a fast street bike, with looks to die for I think.
